The ship and it's ownership are of secondary importance - it's the cargo that determines what happens.
If the oil was destined to be used by the Royal Navy and already paid for by the MOD, they'd soon be on the case - nobody, but nobody, fucks up a civil servant's double-entry book-keeping and lives to get a gong.

usually the case to be fair. There's the 'flag' and also the owner. In this case its british flagged, foreign owner. either way its usually fillipinos and bangladeshis and what not running it.

If Russia had been trying to ship oil to Syria, I wonder what would have happened. My guess is fuck all.
Trumps dealings with Iran given that he doesn't want a major conflict in the region similar to Afganistan or Iraq are fucking bizarre even for him.
